ANNUAL bra auction

For the 13th year, local businesses and artists donated elaborately designed and decorated bras to be modeled and auctioned off during 2025’s BRAS for a CAUSE. 

Dedicated to providing financial support to men, women, and children in the Williston community affected by cancer, BRAS for a CAUSE recognizes the substantial financial strain that cancer places on individuals and families, undertaking to attenuate the burden by providing support for medical expenses, copayments, medication, etc. 

This year’s event took place Saturday, October 25, 2025 at the Upper Missouri Valley Fairgrounds. The event began with a silent auction, followed by the main event, where volunteer models donned the donations and the community bid for the chance to take home one the over three dozen bras auctioned Saturday evening with the help of Steven’s Auctioneer Service. 

BRAS for a CAUSE prides itself on synthesizing humor, creativity, and generosity, upping the ante and the scale each year. Over the dozen preceding events, the organization had fetched over 2 million dollars for local research, and this year’s event only added to the numerical sum and footprint of influence with another record-shattering showing. 

“Williston is always the center of giving,” remarked Cheryl Donoven, president of the organization: “This year’s event surpassed our expectations for sure.” 

After beginning as a mere notion within the confines of Buster’s Bar, BRAS for a CAUSE has grown into a premier fundraising event within the community. Buster’s Bar was recognized as one of four “DD Cup Sponsors,” joined by American Legion Post 37, Chamley Pipe and Salvage, and the Grand Treasure Casino as the largest donors of the 2025 event. 

Even after thirteen years, momentum remains on an upward trajectory for BRAS for a CAUSE, and the fourteenth and beyond are destined to help even more families and individuals in need.
